Material Chemistry Research Lab of the Department of Chemistry, University of Dhaka, currently has 5 faculty members supervising over 25 BS, MS and PhD students. These members, along with more than 90 alumni, have worked on interdisciplinary material science topics over the past 15 years to bring the lab to its current state.
The beginnings of this lab trace back to 2004, when the group formed under Dr. Yousuf Ali Mollah, Dr. Muhibur Rahman and Dr. Md. Abu Bin Hasan Susan. In 2011, our focus was firmly directed towards materials-oriented research, and since then the lab has produced over 100 publications.
Our aim is to improve the quality of research in Bangladesh through collaboration with experts at home and abroad. We arrange national and international seminars and strive to establish long-term scientific partnerships. Our long-term goal is to advance material science from the synthesis of novel materials to their industrial application, ultimately equipping physical chemists to become true material scientists.
The Material Chemistry Research Lab invites motivated students and researchers to join a collaborative space dedicated to innovative materials research. Members engage in hands-on experiments, interdisciplinary projects, and meaningful scientific contributions.
By joining the lab, you gain practical research experience, develop advanced skills, and become part of a supportive community working toward impactful scientific outcomes.
